Coming from a strong background for the love of basketball, I am excited to talk about the upcoming playoffs. Not so exciting is the fact that I am a Lakers fan and as of yesterday April 5th, the Los Angeles Lakers will eliminated from the playoffs as they have no chance to enter into the play-in tournament . The current teams in the western conference play-in tournament are the Timberwolves, Clippers, Pelicans, and Spurs. The Lakers downfall is a reflection on management, general managing, coaching, and the players themselves. Everyone in the Lakers organization played some part in shaping the atrocious team that was one of the biggest disappointments in NBA history. The Lakers went from being the favorites in the Western Conference to not even making the play-in tournament. Injuries, lack of chemistry, and poor roster construction seem to be the main causes of a disappointing Lakers team.     As a Lakers fan it's disappointing to see them out. As a basketball fan I am stil

The Road to Financial Independence (Dividends)

I am back with some more investing strategies to live a life of financial independence. In my previous blog I mentioned retirement accounts and how it is important to know different ways that you can put your money to work and make smart financial decisions. When it comes to investing you want to get to a point in your life where you can passively earn income every month without you having to lift a finger. Some people do this with real estate, where they rent out properties to tenants which pays for the monthly mortgage and a little extra on the side. This is certainty a great way to reach financial independence. However, it does come with its downsides. With the housing market being at an all time high, you may need large sums of cash to get started for a potentially overpriced piece of land. The stress of managing and fixing the property may be too much for some people.       I have spoken to financial advisors, watched videos, and read many books about investing. The be

In life we got to find what makes us happy and run to it. For me, I love sports. I grew up watching basketball and football. I remember watching Shaq and Kobe and going to Kobe's last game. I remember watching the Chargers with Phillip Rivers, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Vincent Jackson. My whole life I have been a Lakers and Chargers fan. Once the Chargers moved to Los Angeles I became a L.A. sports fan. The Lakers, Rams, and Chargers all have a place in my heart. This blog will talk about is going on in L.A. sports and what the future holds for these teams.       Let's start with football and talk about the L.A. Rams. The Rams have been playing extremely well this year earning themselves a spot to Superbowl LVI this Sunday 02/13/22. The last time Los Angeles won a Superbowl was in 1983 when the Los Angeles Raiders beat the Redskins 38-9 to claim Los Angeles first and only Superbowl till this day. This Sunday, Los Angeles has an opportunity to capitalize and win another Sup

The Road to Financial Independence (Retirement Accounts)

When it comes to finances and investments, the topic can be complicated and new to many people. It is important to know ways that you can put your money to work and make smart financial decisions. I want to get to a point in my life where I am passive income coming in every month without me having to lift a finger. The road to retiring early starts with the mindset you have towards financial independence.       The world of finances can not be summarized in one blog post. However, there are tools and ways that one can utilize today in order to make a lasting impact. One way of putting your money to work is through the use of retirement accounts. This can be a job funded account such as a 401k , 401a , or 403b where you make contributions and your employer matches a set amount. A retirement account does not have to go through your employer. You can open your own retirement account through a brokerage like Vanguard , Fidelity , or Charles Schwab . In my case, I have a retirement
